I don't scrapbook as often as I would like. There's an occasional time when I get together with my friends and scrapbook until late at night, then I regret that I ever stayed up that late when my kids wake me up in the morning.
Really, though, why do I scrapbook? First, I love sitting down and looking at something I created. I feel like I have actually accomplished something. Don't you feel good about yourself when you finally finish a project you've been working on? I sit and admire my work when I'm finished, and wish that I had more time to let my creative juices flow. In my world of motherhood it seems like everything I do I repeat over and over again...laundry gets folded and put away only to be found again in the laundry room a few days later, toys get put away and two minutes later are found on the floor again, food gets cooked then eaten...or sometimes it's not eaten at all and ends up in the sink! It's nice to be able to look at something I created and know that it's going to be there for a really long time! Second, I feel obligated to track my family's life for our posterity. And finally, I have thousands of pictures that I need to do something with. Scrapbooking is supposed to be enjoyable. I shouldn't feel guilty about my piles of photos and unused supplies, right? But I do, and this is why I decided to do something about it.
We created Piggy Tales Academy as an answer to many scrapbooker's (including me) biggest challenges - What do I do with all of my pictures? How do I find time to do what I enjoy? Where do I start?
It's my hope that I can help you along your path to preserving your memories. Sometimes it might not be easy, but it's okay. Don't feel guilty; just jump in and join me as we work through our photos, memories, and journals. Let's get our scrapbook life in order and have fun while doing it!
